In response to this, most online sellers of these screen protectors offer an anti-glare solution. Anti-glare, across the board, costs more but it may be worth the extra expense depending on your lighting situation.

All television screen protectors are made using optical grade acrylic. Optical grade acrylic is actually pretty impressive stuff. It’s scratch resistant, anti-glare and ant-reflective.

The newer acrylic materials being used in these products was developed by NASA and is also used in the automobile industry. The stuff is strong and reliable. It provides more than enough protection for your expensive television.

How does the TV screen protector attach to the TV?

Currently, all screen protectors on the market use a simple method utilizing Velcro straps to attach to your television. Once placed on your TV, there are rubber or felt tabs that rest against the frame around your screen. These “bumbers” act as shock absorbers and take the brunt of the force when the screen cover is jarred.

It should be noted that, if you purchased a warranty, it is probable that this warranty does not cover “accidental screen contact” resulting a shattered LCD screen. Check with the retailer from whom you purchased the TV and see if yours is covered for these types of mishaps.

So who makes these products?

There are 3 major providers or brands of TV screen protectors on the market. The only major difference between each one are slight variations in the way the Velcro straps attach to the acrylic TV screen protector and in some instances, the thickness of the LCD TV screen protector itself. All of them provide sufficient protection for your flat screen TV.

Remember, the thicker the acrylic, the heavier the product will be. One maker of these products offers a 63″ shield weighing in at 16 pounds! I don’t think most flat screen televisions were made to hold an additional 16 pounds and still remain stable, but I also don’t know of any toppling over and crushing anyone but it just feels like that would make the TV unstable on its base.

Are they worth the money?

You need to decide, knowing your own household better than anyone, if it’s worth the risk. Thousands of plasma and LCD television screens get broken every month.

Do you have active tweens, pets or young children? Is your house the neighborhood hangout that gets lots of traffic and activity? Do you entertain a lot?

Here’s the issue: You can’t fix an LCD screen once it’s broken and currently, a TV screen protector is the only available solution. Unfortunately, the LCD television screens can’t be replaced separately. Is it worth spending another $1500 on a new flat screen television?

What Is 4D TV?

There are a number of consumers who have heard the term 4D TV and think that is has something to do with fans, mist sprayers, and other external sensory devices to bring the audience deeper into the experience of the film, but that is all related to the initial concept of the Smell-o-Vision and nothing based in reality.

What 4D TV is

Okay, so now that we have established what 4D TV is not, let’s get into what it is. The company Motorola is one of the leading companies in communications, from satellite to cell phones and almost everything else under the sun that deals with communications. In the nineteen-eighties, about the same time that cable companies and satellite dish networks were breaking out into the mass media culture, they had to deal with many of the same space and transfer issues that early Internet users had to endure.

Basically, when the Internet was still fairly young as a consumer entity, dial-up service was the only way to connect. Slow and frustrating, files had to be quite small in order to transfer over the telephone line, otherwise the connection could be lost or the file would take days to download. Basically, these early cable and satellite broadcasts faced similar limitations. Even cable companies, even though most consumers think the signal transmits over cable lines, actually transmit their original signals via satellite.

With that being said, because the signals are being compressed in order to move across the transmission lines fast enough, they are degraded copies, to some extent. The receiving dish (which is the last dish before the signal is then transmitted to the consumer) unzips the signal and reconstructs that signal. There is a degradation of signal during this process.

4D technology is actually a transmission technology that Motorola has developed that keeps the original broadcast signal intact so that the highest quality signal reaches the consumer, allowing the consumer to take advantage of the high resolution or even 3D television that they are using in their home.

As one can see, the term itself, 4D TV, has created a misunderstanding among the average consumer who has been hearing a great deal about 3D TVs and technology and have jumped to conclusions about what 4D could possibly be. After all, the ‘D’ stands for dimensions, but in this case, it is merely referring to the transmission of the highest quality signal from the source to the destination. For filmmakers, there’s nothing new to worry about, no new technology to learn. Just film your masterpieces and as we move into the future, 4D technology will likely become the norm in signal transmission so that the viewer gets to see precisely the quality images that you intended them to see.

Pros and Cons of Watching Television

Many of us love watching TV especially during our free time and if we don’t have anything to do. We like watching TV while eating our favorite snacks or hanging around in a friend’s place. Either way we are entertained when we watch TV. There are many different programs we can watch on TV depending on our mood and our personality. Some love watching comedy and talk shows while others particularly kids and those who are young at heart love watching cartoons on Cartoon Network or Disney channel.

But then, watching TV has its advantages and disadvantages. Experts say that too much watching of TV especially among children is not good for the health and the mind. TV can be entertaining and informative yet at times it can be damaging and harmful.

Below are the Pros and Cons of watching TV.

Pros:

1.) Entertainment and Laughter

We are entertained by shows we love to watch. We laugh at things we find funny and comical in the TV program we are watching. We also love to dance or sing along with celebrities we see on TV and some of us even copy their dance moves and singing styles.

2.) Information and How-To

We learn a lot of information about places and people that we usually don’t learn on magazines, books and newspapers. There are travel shows that show us beautiful places in the world and inform us the culture of different countries which can be a great help especially if we are planning to travel. We also easily learn how to cook new recipes by watching cooking shows and we can learn doing some other stuff through programs that show step-by-step procedures of performing a particular work, exercise or other interesting stuff.

3.) Improve Memory and Easy Learning

We usually take note of the time schedule for our favorite programs especially if it is only shown once or twice a week. We tend to store and recall the things that recently happened in our favorite show before the next episode will be shown on TV. This will help enhance our memory which we can apply on our daily life. For children, it is easier to learn math, science, alphabet and other subject matters if someone can show them how to do it like counting, identifying objects and a lot more. Educational TV shows are available for children to watch and learn.

4.) Bonding With Family and Friends

Watching TV is a great way to bond with family and friends especially on weekends. You can laugh and discuss things that you see on TV. That can be really fun.

5.) Awareness and Alertness

Weather reports and current news on different parts of the worlds can make you aware of what is happening outside your country. You can also be alert when there is an incoming typhoon in your area and that can help you get prepared.

Cons:

1.) Decline in creativity and imagination.

TV shows including commercials have tendency to share their creative works on us and impart their ideas and opinions on us which is not favorable and can lead to a decline in our creativity and imagination since we can not think on our own since creative stuff are readily available and shared to us.

2.) Health problems

We usually eat junk foods or any of our favorite snacks while watching TV. This is not good for our health because we tend to eat a lot while we are sitting down facing the television. This can lead to obesity since we don’t move a lot when we watch TV. This can also lead to other serious ailments caused by eating a lot and moving less.

3.) Makes people lazy

Most of us get hooked when watching programs of our favorite TV channel. We sometimes even forget to do our work or other important things because we got engaged in the show we are watching. Some people forget to do their household chores because they would rather watch TV than work.

4.) Some shows don’t teach good values.

There are TV programs that do not teach good values particularly to children. Instead of teaching them good deeds they even imitate, re-enact or spoof important things happening around us which is not good for children to watch.

To sum up, in watching TV you should choose and monitor the TV programs that you and your children should watch. Choose programs that can help you learn and grow as a person. You should also limit the time your children spend in watching TV. The maximum number of hours small kids should watch TV is 3 hours while for teenagers you should make sure they watch good shows only when they are done with homework and projects.

The Importance of electronic technology in communications is where news is most called upon. As one of the fastest developing industries in the world, the cell phone has revolutionized the way we live and communicate with each other and the world.

Everyone wants to be informed when a new innovation in the cell phone industry is unveiled. The addition of the internet, as well as GPS navigation systems, sent the communications industries staggering to the bank under the weight of the money being made.
